There are lots of TV shows to choose from especially if you have subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Disney, CBS, Peacock, Amazon, or Quibi. But what makes a TV show a good watch? Well, we’ve got different tastes and if you ask me, Grey’s Anatomy, Felicity, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Friends, Just Shoot Me, Melissa and Joey, Ally McBeal and the Good Wife will probably be placed ever so high on my list. But there’s a collective opinion on certain things and I always give it a try. These are the ones I have loved:
The Haunting of Hill House – I have just rewatched this series during the Eid. It is as freaky as the first time I have seen it. The Haunting of Hill House is an American anthology supernatural horror drama web television series loosely based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. The plot alternates between two timelines, following five adult siblings whose paranormal experiences at Hill House continue to haunt them in the present day, and flashbacks depicting events leading up to the eventful night in 1992 when the family fled from the mansion.

The Sopranos – Although this show had run in 1999, I have not watched it until recently. I mean, until the pandemic lockdown. I have always avoided any mob related series or film but having finally seen it, I totally got hooked! I can’t believe I have been missing such a good drama for the longest time! Quoting the New Yorker, “It’s rare for one performance to change the world, but once Gandolfini cleared the way, nobody could be under any illusion about what a television actor was capable of.”The Sopranos is an American crime drama television series created by David Chase. The story revolves around Tony Soprano, a New Jersey-based Italian American high level mobster, portraying the difficulties that he faces as he tries to balance his family life with his role as the leader of a criminal organization. I love how frustratingly good the show has ended. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Returned – This is about something freaky that occurred in a small Alpine village, a group of men, women and children is in a state of confusion as they try to return to their homes after years of being away. What they don’t know is that no one is expecting their arrival because they have been dead for several years. Upon returning, they realize that their friends and family have moved on to the next stages of their lives since the now-returning souls passed on. Coinciding with their reappearance is a series of murders that bears a chilling resemblance to those of a serial killer from the past.
The Killing – This show is set in Seattle, Washington. The first season covers the first two weeks of the investigation into Rosie’s murder (somehow reminiscent of Twin Peaks) and the attempts of her family to deal with their grief, and the fluctuating electoral fortunes of a political campaign that becomes embroiled in the case. I liked this because the acting is super raw. Mireille is an underrated actress. She should be acknowledged more.

I highly recommend all these shows especially the last two. I am sure everyone has heard of the Sopranos and The Haunting of Hill House but the last 2 were either forgotten or never heard of at all.

What is your favorite street food? And sorry to hear about the dogs. Why did it happen quite often? Congratulations and thank you for the nomination. Much appreciated as always!

Isaw…
Fishballs…
Ice Crumble (iskrambol)
The first bite was if I remember correctly, I was feeding it with marshmallows, but I was more of taunting than feeding… it got mad.
The second was new year, we were to go to the ‘kanto’ from where we make an overseas call to my father, there weren’t any phones in our barrio except for that aerial mobiline. We had to walk in the middle of the night while the fireworks are at its peak sending all the dogs wild. Of course, it had to choose me. My mom and joy were with me, but I just had to be the one to get bitten.
The third one is the most vivid experience. I was running and the dog chased me. I am naturally a brat I guess. I ran towards the tiny bridge with perhaps approx 6 inches wide, I stopped in the middle to taunt the dog and to my surprise, the dog was able to cross the bridge!
None of these were rabid. I only had the shots on the second one because we couldn’t identify the dog.

Wow, the bites sound like horror stories. I hope it does not happen again. Nice though that you still keep a dog. I like kikiam and egg balls!

Which of these is your most favourite show to binge on ?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Among these, I’d say my favorite is The Killing… it’s a balance of light and dark…
Haunting on Hill House is too good but is also too scary for me to repeat over and over…
What about you? What are your favorite binge shows?

I love it too!
I didn’t include that on my list because that’s one of the usual choices…
Were you able to guess the ending? What’s your theory about it?

The ending was sort of confusing. I am never really happy the last episode of a series.

Hi,nice post!I suggest you watch the good place ,it’s really nice but it’s genre is totally different to the shows you talked about above…maybe you will like it.

Ohmg! I love The Good Place.. I guess the reason why I didn’t list that is because it’s an actual favorite of the many… You are so right about that!
