This is Rakesh. He runs a second hand book stall near Andheri, Mumbai. You can rent a book from his shop for as low as Rs.10.
When asked if he makes enough, he said “People earn so they can spend money on something they want. I’m already surrounded by the one thing I’ve always wanted.”

When asked if he needed help, Rakesh said, “there are thousands of migrant workers dying out there. Support them and not me. I have all the food on my table and the privilege to sit at home and be safe.”

Rakesh takes care of the bookshop using his only arm. Imagine that! We’ve got all our limbs intact and yet, sometimes, we do our job as though we’re being tortured! This is an example of a person who loves, enjoys and appreciates what he does and shares it with everyone!
I will end with the verse from Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
This story touched me. Thank you for sharing it and inspiring me.

I suspect he is in more of a position to appreciate the plights of others.
