The title was in reference to that famous Eraserheads’ late 90s album called Aloha Milkyway.
Last year, August 2019, our family went to the US for the first time as the three of us. It was my first time in Hawaii and this blog reaction was way overdue but I think I have reacted enough (and on time) via Instagram.
I have decided to write about this to reflect on how amazing God is! The forests behind us? Surrounding us? I am in awe! I knew that Hawaii is awesome but I have never imagined even once that it would feel that way. Photos do not give Hawaii’s beauty enough justice! It’s heaven on earth!
It somehow made me a little sad that I am not getting enough exposure to these parts of the world having spent my life in cities. Just standing in the middle of nowhere is like being able to breath again! (Backstory: SOB is normal for me being severely anemic)
My sister-in-law and her family is based in Hawaii and so when they invited us to join them even for a short while, we said YES! And it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I know that there are lots of people who are exposed to such beauty, to the wonders of nature, and it may seem shallow for me to react this way but I am really grateful to have experienced this especially having been on lock down for months now.
Let’s pray for our lives to be back to normal once again so we can enjoy God’s creation once more!
I leave you with this verse from the book of Psalm chapter 50, verse 2, “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.”
My husband lived in Hawaii when he was young for a couple of years, I hope to visit one day! Beautiful picture!

Hawaii has been one of my dream travel destinations. It’s so beautiful! It makes you think, “What did I do to deserve such an amazing view?” Haha btw, that’s a beautiful family photo! π
I really hope this pandemic ends soon and no more people get infected.

Thank you!!! We were lucky because we’ve got sisters in Hawaii, if it weren’t for them, we would not have gone there since hubby isnt a beach lover (that’s how we initially perceived the place but apparently, it’s more than beaches)… I was totally in awe! I believe I cried a bit… With the adventures you’ve accumulated at such young age, you’re bound to go places!

It’s a good thing that you have family there because I heard that the hotels are expensive. I also thought of Hawaii as mostly beaches, but after watching countless travel videos, I saw the beautiful mountains Hihi Omg, ate! Thank you! π I don’t have that many adventures yet. I have just started when I started earning money a few years ago. π Mahirap kumita ng pera π

Totoo yan… but money spent on experiences is always money well-spent. I have not started traveling til I was around 25, and I find that so LATE given that I’ve earned money way earlier than that, I should have traveled instead of buying useless stuff that seemed important that time but in reality weren’t… I also wished I traveled more when I was single, things are different when you’re deciding as a family because not everyone likes uncomfortable travels (LOL) I could have gone places my husband wont dare go i.e. vietnam, cambodia, nepal… (he isnt as adventurous)
YES, hotels are expensive in Hawaii but there are cottages too that are perhaps rentable, plus, airbnb gives you more choices… PLUS thank GOD for cheapoair.com

That’s right especially right now. It’s so easy to get swayed and get influenced from buying things that we don’t need. I’m guilty! π I can relate. When I’m with my family, there’s a limit on my adventures because my mom and my lola sometimes get scared like when we went to Pugad. It took a lot of convincing before they let me try the zipline, but I understand. Haha yes, I love cheapoair and airbnb! π
