Most Filipino moms are now going crazy about the new normal with regard to our kid’s education. This is mainly because home schooling is not really something we have gotten used to growing up. We only see it in movies, we hear it from our foreign friends, but if we’re talking about the actual experience, there’s only few who really knows of it. We are basically clueless.
So because my son is immunocompromised, I really had to think about our options whether to participate in synchronous programs (SP) or should I finally learn more about homeschooling. I mean should schools return to normal (back to the school facilities) some time this school year, I don’t think I can be comfortable sharing all these contagions with my son and I believe, most parents feel the same way.
Our current school decided to offer the synchronous program (SP) this school year. SP refers to a learning event in which a group of students are engaging in learning at the same time. Before learning technology allowed for synchronous learning environments, most online education took place through asynchronous learning methods. However, given our schedules, being that most of us are working parents, we feel that this program is kind of difficult.
Our country’s Department of Education (DepEd) has provided resources that made online education super easy for parents who are not so exposed to research. They uploaded the materials on their website, plus the site is so easy to use with minimal downtime, click me!

I have submitted our application to a Philippine based homeschooling program and we are waiting for the test and interview. I am excited although a bit nervous because they are going to assess both Brooklyn and moi… Please pray for us to be accepted!
Anyhoo, I will be posting some links below for your reference and I hope that we all stay safe amidst this pandemic and I do pray that there won’t be any succeeding waves of Covid and yes, continuously praying for vaccine or antidote for this deadly disease.
Thank you for this information. As an educator, it’s great for me to see how other schools are approaching distance learning. I hope to learn more from your blogs.

Thanks for reading! The Philippines may be a little behind in terms of materials / curricula but they’re actually doing better than expected. What they’ve done so far has amazed a lot of parents. But of course, there are still lots of rooms for improvement.
Thanks! I also look forward to reading your posts, in fact, I have just watched one of your vlogs ❤

Thanks Janis. It’s really amazing how many schools have transformed and adjusted in such a short period of time.
The vlogs are a little old, but I hope you enjoy.
