Flashback Friday: Season 2

For the 10th day of the Grey’s Anatomy Challenge, I was being asked about my favorite season. This is kind of tricky because I had to pause and reminisce about each one and here’s what I have decided to write:

My favorite is Season 2:

Izzie (Katherine Heigl) falls for a patient, Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who tragically dies after proposing to her.

Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) wife, Addison (Kate Walsh), joins the Seattle Grace staff, as does plastic surgeon Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), who was Derek’s best friend until he had an affair with Addison.

How did Addison and Derek, (two world-class non-General Surgeons) become Richard Webber’s (James Pickens Jr.) students while he’s never left Seattle Grace?

NOBODY KNOWS (don’t just read it, “sing it!”)

Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) hops on board and yeah, Cristina gets pregnant, Bailey has a baby while her husband had brain surgery, Burke is shot and loses the use of his hand, and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) had to hold a grenade inside a patient before watching her bomb-squad savior (Friday Night Lights‘ Coach Taylor/ Kyle Chandler!) die in front of her. Then she has to put down her dog. Thank God for the handsome vet, Dr. Finn Dandridge (Chris O’Donnell).

TBH, I would choose Finn over Derek at any time. Derek’s character is too complex and too dark.
